Actions & ticker

Try it step by step

1. Define editable scalar parameters or named literal lists first.
2. Enter an assignment action using the arrow notation, or add an action in the Data panel.
3. Use Run to test one update before starting a repeating ticker.
4. Configure the ticker interval or supported object click binding, then pause when finished.

Each card is one input. For definitions, enter the cards in order. Formula-only cards belong in the tool described above.

Options explained

Simultaneous assignments

Every right-hand side uses the state before the action. This makes operations such as swapping a and b possible.

Run expression action

Executes an action row once. Save as ticker action when you want to configure repetition.

Name, Target and New value

Give the action a useful name, choose an editable parameter or literal list, and enter its replacement formula. Add assignment updates another target in the same action; Remove assignment removes that update. Each action supports up to eight assignments.

Ticker

Set Tick interval in milliseconds, from 100 to 60,000. Run tests one update; Start ticker repeats it and Stop ticker pauses it. Repetition runs while the page is visible. Reload starts paused.

Clock values

dt is elapsed milliseconds, is seconds, and is total elapsed seconds since Start. Manual Run uses zero for these clock values.

Object bindings

Expand Click bindings and check the graph objects that should run this action when clicked. The Run button provides the same action from the keyboard.

Add / delete action

Create up to 16 actions. Delete action removes the selected configuration and stops the ticker; use Undo if you removed it accidentally.

Validity

Targets must be supported editable parameters or literal lists. Invalid updates are reported instead of partially changing the document.
